English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning assessment in single-sex and co-educational classrooms

This study investigates the effects of Single-Sex and Co-educational classrooms on English learning outcomes. is a causal-comparative in ex post facto design. Three classes consisting 73 students (boy girl-single-sex co-educational class) from private secondary school Central Java, Indonesia, are sample. An integrated test, equating material 2013 curriculum CEFR for English, was used. It tested four skills Listening, Speaking, Reading Writing. Expert judgments already checked instrument through face validity. Item internal consistency all good, reliability too good category. indicates that organizing Single-sex classroom process has positive significant effect achievement. Being benefitted their outcomes English. also implies teachers, especially must understand students' strategies to implement appropriate strategies. because male female learn something different ways.
